VoteClarity uses AI and an open ethical charter to hold politicians to the standard they swore an oath to uphold — the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and universal human dignity.
VoteClarity doesn't decide morality. It measures observable political behaviour against a transparent, publicly-defined ethical charter — so anyone can scrutinise the reasoning.
We aggregate voting records from official parliamentary sources, cross-reference public statements with verified transcripts, and gather published policy proposals — all from primary or accredited sources only.
The Civic Integrity Engine applies rule-based classification and AI-assisted analysis across five scoring dimensions. Claims are cross-checked. All AI judgements are logged. Disputed cases go to human review.
Politicians receive a 0–100 alignment score with a full breakdown by category, supporting evidence, and a plain-language explanation. Every score is contestable. Politicians can submit rebuttals.
How votes in parliament align with the Charter's principles across key policy areas.
Truthfulness, consistency, and absence of documented disinformation.
Published legislative proposals evaluated for rights-alignment and societal impact.
Financial disclosures, ethics investigations, conflicts of interest, verified misconduct.
Behaviour during emergencies: respect for rule of law, civil liberties, proportionality of response.
All weightings are published in the VoteClarity Charter and are subject to community review. Weights may be adjusted via a governed process — never unilaterally.
These profiles are based on verified public records — congressional votes, documented statements, financial disclosures, and integrity signals. The same criteria applied equally across both parties.
The Charter defines what we measure and why. Grounded in the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights — drafted under American leadership in 1948 — it holds politicians to the standard they themselves swore an oath to uphold.
Rooted in the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause and the Declaration of Independence's principle that "all men are created equal." Politicians are assessed on how consistently their actions uphold the equal dignity of every person regardless of race, religion, gender, or origin.
We track alignment with the First Amendment (free speech, press, assembly, religion), the Fourth Amendment (privacy, unreasonable search), and the broader Bill of Rights — the foundational guarantees every elected official swore to protect and defend.
The Founders warned explicitly against deception in public office. Verified disinformation, contradictions between public statements and actions, and failures of financial disclosure all directly affect a politician's score. Truthfulness in governance is measurable — and essential to democracy.
Grounded in the UDHR's Article 3 (right to life and security) and America's own constitutional tradition of civilian oversight of the military. We evaluate support for proportional, lawful security policy and flag any incitement to political violence or abuse of state force.
Madison's constitutional design relies on checks and balances — separation of powers, independent courts, and a free press. Do politicians support judicial independence? Do they comply with court decisions? Do they undermine democratic institutions? All scored with documented evidence, applied equally to both parties.
The Preamble to the Constitution charges elected officials to "promote the general welfare" and "secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity." We assess policies on public health, economic fairness, and environmental stewardship — evaluating whether decisions serve future generations or short-term political gain.
